ProView – Big Agnes Hot Sulphur Belay Jacket
The Big Agnes Women’s Hot Sulphur Belay Jacket is a durable, streamlined jacket filled with a water-resistant polyester that kept me toasty in various winter conditions in the Front Range and Indian Peaks.
The jacket has three zipper pockets, two at the hip and one on the chest as well as two stash pockets on the inside, and it comes with a small stuff sack for storage.
Wearing the Hot Sulphur Belay Jacket feels like you’re wrapped in a warm Big Agnes sleeping bag, but it offers an excellent range of motion. When I took this jacket to the Indian Peaks of Colorado I stayed warm in 0-20 degree temps. I found the fit to bit large, as I am usually a size Small in jackets but needed an Extra Small in this one. If you size down it has an tailored, active fit. I wore a medium-weight wool base layer underneath and was comfortable while touring in the backcountry. The black color has a nice pink piping on the zipper that brings some flare to a simple style.
I found zipper is a little hard to zip, but overall the jacket performs well in cold to colder conditions and fights off snow with ease. It has a durable, seamless construction. I recommend this jacket for winter camping, hut trips, ice climbing, cold belays and overall just providing warmth on a cold winters day.
