Summary
Overall, I liked the jacket and its functionality. I love that it packs up super small. I love that it keeps the wind and water at bay, but the sizing and zipper troubles left me disappointed. I think this is a great jacket for what it is intended to be used for. If I got the right size, this would definitely be an item I would be sure to pack in my bag. Perfect for when I am traveling for a weekend camping or going out of town for a few weeks. It is so light and packable there is no reason this should not be in every runner’s gear bag. I hope this review helps answer any questions you may have had about the jacket itself. I like to be honest with my reviews of products and I would recommend the RaidLight Hyperlight jacket if you are wanting something ultralight, for your ultra awesome adventures.

Cons

- Zipper gets stuck
- No hood
Features
The jacket is not only super lightweight, but it can also pack up into itself and be held in the palm of your hand. I found this useful for when the rain stops and you get too warm. You can just pack up the jacket and put it in your running belt, pack, or pocket. The jacket also has vented pits, so it doesn’t get too warm, to begin with. There is some stretch and flexibility to the jacket as well. I was not concerned about it tearing. When going through some pretty ‘branch heavy’ portions of the trail, this jacket managed just fine.
This jacket was a nice addition to my trip to the Red River Gorge as we experienced some rain and wind on our hike, but I did not necessarily want a heavy raincoat. I would not recommend using this jacket as a stand-alone raincoat, but if you need something super durable, lightweight, and very packable, this is the jacket for you. The jacket comes equipped with two thumb loops on the end of the sleeves. This helped immensely when going up steep hills and navigating through the brush. The sleeves stayed down and did not bunch up like with my other shirts or jackets I normally wear.
Room for Improvement
I will say that you should size up in this jacket, as I am a medium normally. I do not like to feel restricted while I run, and at times with the size being as small as it was, it did start to bother me. I am 6’0’ ft tall and weigh about 170 and this jacket was a little too snug when zipped up fully. The zipper also gave me some issues, which was not ideal for taking on and off super quickly. It would also be nice to have a hood to keep your head warm and dry from the elements, but the jacket ultimately did what I needed it to do.
Sometimes it is nice to have an additional layer on as well, and this jacket did not really allow anything more than a t-shirt. Ultimately though, I think that is the way it is meant to be used. Definitely, size up with this product. I am a true and honest medium when it comes to jackets and this just didn’t fit the way I thought it should.
