ProView – GOREWEAR Women’s Running Kit Review

I have tried a lot of different running gear over the past two years, and I was pleasantly surprised by GOREWEAR’s gear. The Concurve Shorts are great to wear with a sports bra because they sit at my true waist line and the Contest Tee is definitely the most lightweight shirt I have ever worn. It almost feels like air!

Fit/Comfort

The comfort of both the shirt and shorts absolutely blew me away. They seriously feel so lightweight when you wear them! Both the shirt and shorts fit true to size. I was between the small and extra small and went with the small, which was the right choice. The Contest Tee was a little long for me, but I have a short torso, so I expected that. The shorts fit perfectly, however, I wish the legs were slightly more flowy. They felt like more of a fitted style of shorts.

Look/Style

The style of the Concurve shorts and Contest Tee is really flashy and modern. I selected the scrub purple for the shirt, and it is so cute! I try to run in brighter colors when I run in the mountains for safety’s sake, and this purple does the job without being obnoxious. The shorts are like most running shorts; however, what really sets them apart is the high waistband. I think it’s really flattering, especially for me and my short torso. 

Features

The lack of seams on the bottom of the shorts liner and the shirt’s neck is a game-changer. I do not own any running clothes with this feature, and I love how it makes them feel less bulky and more streamlined with my body. One more feature to note – both the shirt and shorts are so lightweight and breathable. I really do not own running clothes that feel as lightweight as the GOREWEAR items. 

Function/Performance

During my runs, the Concurve shorts and Contest tee kept me cool and comfy. I really appreciated how breathable the shirt was when wearing a running vest. The liner shorts do ride up a smidge, but I wore them for a 10-mile run, and it was never so extreme to the point I was chafing. With my particular running vest, I did find myself wishing the Contest Tee had a more fitted neck to prevent rubbing. 

Durability/Construction

I took the shirt and shorts on a run that required bushwacking, and they emerged unscathed. I will mention: do not dry the Contest Tee. I dry all of my athletic shirts regardless of the care instructions BUT none of my shirts have been as lightweight as the Contest Tee. I did end up damaging my shirt in the dryer because I did not heed the care instructions. 

What sets this product apart? 

What sets the GOREWEAR running gear apart is how lightweight it is. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again – I have never worn running apparel as lightweight as the Contest Tee and Concurve Shorts. They truly feel like almost nothing on your body.

These products are for all sorts of runners who are out in the sun. They are durable for the trails and will keep you cool on the pavement.
