ProView – Inov-8 RACEPAC 8 Review
This fall I had the opportunity to test the Inov-8 RACEPAC 8 running vest. I took it on a variety of runs, hikes, and roller ski adventures, testing its versatile features in multiple settings. This pack has the ability to hold everything you might need in a day and more including ample storage for 3L of water! Zipped pockets with bungee attachments for keys and a safety whistle allow you to leave your worries at the trailhead.

Summary
Overall, I was stoked using this running pack, as I did not run out of water on a long roller ski, nor did it weigh me down while trail running. I loved how many quick access pockets were in the front so that I can easily refuel or change my music during an activity. I would highly recommend this vest to anyone looking for a light day pack or a new running buddy. The fit was very secure and the chest bungees are easy to adjust.

Durability
The framework of the vest feels very durable and secure, and the zippered pockets glide easily. The majority of the vest is mesh, which held up great for me thus far, however with any mesh based equipment, I foresee getting a few holes in it.
Comfort/Sizing
The Inov-8 RACEPAC 8 running vest runs true to size. I am 5’6” and was very comfortable in a medium. The light weight design and breathable air-mesh material keeps you cool under the vest and successfully wicks moisture. The chest bungees allow you to make the pack as loose or as tight as you want. Previous running vests I have owned always fit weird the more stuff I have in them, while this pack did not require large adjustments. I did not find myself fiddling with the fit of this vest once after initially putting it on for the first time. This is a big difference from my old vest that has a million straps that I can never seem to get to fit just right.
Features
This pack holds 8L and is compatible with a 2L reservoir as well as holding not one, but two 500mL soft flasks. As someone who had heart surgery last year and has to be very conscious of getting enough water and electrolytes, this pack makes that abundantly easy. Additionally, there are so many pockets to keep snacks, salt, keys or anything else you might need that day. I also found I was easily able to stuff my 600 fill puffy in the back pocket, and this did not affect the fit of the vest. This vest also had attachment options to carry two poles which is great for ultra running, trail running, or even longer day hikes in technical terrain.
The Final Word
Overall, I was stoked using this running pack, as I did not run out of water on a long roller ski, nor did it weigh me down while trail running. I loved how many quick access pockets were in the front so that I can easily refuel or change my music during an activity. I would highly recommend this vest to anyone looking for a light day pack or a new running buddy. The fit was very secure and the chest bungees are easy to adjust.
