ProView – Timbuk2 Robin Pack
On first glance I immediately liked the look of the Robin Pack. As a bike commuter in Boulder, it’s easy to look unprofessional carrying your laptop and extras while riding, but the stylistic design and colors of the Robin balance between dirtbag and desk job.
The contour of the bag fits anatomically to your back in a streamline design, like a turtle shell, and includes a ventilated back panel. Be wary on the really warm days however – the ventilation works, but is not going to completely prevent a sweaty back on the way to work.
The Robin is full of tiny extras that, as you explore the function of the bag, seem to show up right when you need them. Integrated key ring, magnetic straps, rainfly, and removable waist strap answered a lot of my “go to” questions when I’m first using a bag.
Sturdy and water resistant outer material make it easy to rely on in areas where you may or may not get an afternoon shower.
What I love about the Robin Pack:
- Stylish, urban look makes it perfect for business commuting
- Subtle, but thoughtful additions
- Reliable during inclement weather
- Plenty of space
Areas for improvement:
- Standard ventilation, which is not ideal on hot summer days
- “Haul bag” style main compartment (no separate compartments inside, only outside)
Overall:
A functional, stylish bag that, for the price, is worth adding to your quiver.
