ProView – LIVSN Designs Women’s Flex Canvas Pants V3 Review
I am a trail to town girl. I took the LIVSN Designs canvas pants out in Sonoma County, CA from local casual hikes to farmers markets. These pants impressed me with their pockets and durability, however they could be improved in their fit and comfort. Although not advertised as such, I found them to be an excellent choice for gardening and outdoor work.

Summary
LIVSN Designs’ Women’s Flex Canvas Pants V3 is a unique pant made of organic cotton and recycled material. They have many features to love and are abrasion-resistant with their thick material. However, I found that the sizing and fit was not the most flattering for my body type. With that being said, I am still excited to continue using them for outdoor projects and gardening where you can never have enough pockets!
Overall
4.2Pros
- Love all the pockets!
- Durable
- Sustainably minded
Cons
- Material feels stiff
- Crotch is too long and bulky
- Sizing felt a bit off (true to size in hips, but too large in waist)
Fit & Comfort
While these pants fit, I did find the LIVSN sizing to feel a bit off. The pants fit true to size in my hips, however the waist was noticeably too large by about an inch and a half. I do have a smaller athletic body type, which can play a factor in sizing. With this being said, the pants were plenty long enough and I loved how they were easy to roll up for a cropped look.
Upon first wearing these pants, the material felt incredibly stiff and slightly rough to the skin. However, as I wore them, I noticed they started to feel more comfortable over time; though having some additional stretch in the fabric would have been appreciated in areas where the joints bend. Due to this, I don’t anticipate taking these pants on scrambles or difficult hikes where high steps and extra mobility are necessary.

I felt like the crotch design of these pants was not ideal for women – the crotch puckered out and was longer and stiffer than necessary, causing some slight discomfort when squatting or sitting. While hip and waist measurements are difficult to perfect due to the vast diversity of body types, I do feel like the crotch seam should be improved for better performance, style, and fit.
Look & Style
These LIVSN Design bottoms look and function like pants you would wear for gardening, farming or other forms of outdoor work. They don’t currently meet the performance standards of modern technical hiking pants. However, with all the pockets and their incredible durability, I am excited to use them for outdoor projects and work days.

My biggest gripe with the pants is the unflattering cut of the crotch and how they don’t quite hug the woman’s body like other outdoor pants. However, this does ultimately come down to individual body type.
Lastly, the color of these pants is unique, with a noticeable orange tone to the fabric. While I don’t mind this color, I could see the benefit in having more colors available, such as different shades of khaki or brown.
Features
One of the perks of these pants is the incredible number of pockets – the most of any pants I owned before these ones! The two front pockets are incredibly deep and wide with one including an additional smaller hidden zippered pocket inside. I love the side pockets – the narrower one is perfect for work tools or a handy pocket knife, while the wider larger pocket can literally hold anything, including your phone. While I appreciated having the back pockets, the zippers weren’t ideal or convenient, making it more difficult to use them.

I appreciated the snaps on the bottom of the pants, so that the pants could be secured snuggly around the ankle. However, when doing so, I did notice that the material started to bunch up a bit around the calves and knees. Ultimately, I preferred to wear the pants cropped by rolling up the bottom hems.
Function & Performance
While these pants can be used for trail to town excursions, I would opt to wear them mostly for outdoor work and gardening. They perform excellently in this category! The material just doesn’t make the cut for technical hiking where nimbleness, breathability and comfort are more important than pocket diversity and durability. Due to the crotch design and fit in the waist, these wouldn’t be my first pick for a stylish outing around town – however, I would pull these on in a pinch for a quick errand.

Durability & Construction
These canvas pants are made of a mix of organic cotton and recycled materials, offering a sustainable addition to your outdoor wardrobe. I found this fabric to hold up incredibly well, even when encountering thorny blackberry bushes along an overgrown trail.
However, the durability of these pants does come at the cost of comfort – the material feeling stiffer, thicker and bulkier than other competitors on the market. These pants also were a bit noisy when walking down the trail, due to the nature of the fabric.

The Final Word
While going from trail to town in these LIVSN Designs canvas pants, I got to thoroughly test them in Sonoma County, CA. Those who are searching for eco-friendly, durable and feature-filled pants will appreciate these for their longevity and functional pockets. However, those looking for a stylish, feminine and technical fit, will likely want to look elsewhere – with the main concerns being the crotch design and bulkier material. Overall, these pants are excellent for outdoor work and gardening and I will continue to get much use out of them!
