ProView – Pret Vision Mips Helmet Review
I tested the Vision Mips helmet during a mix of lift skiing and ski touring days this winter. Most of my days are long ones in the mountains, so I wanted to see how it felt after several hours of climbing, transitioning, and skiing in changing weather.

Summary
The Vision Mips helmet is lightweight, comfortable, and easy to adjust during a full day in the mountains. What I liked most was the fit and ventilation system. It’s a helmet that feels good all day and doesn’t require constant adjustment.
Overall
4.9Pros
- Very comfortable fit with no pressure points
- Ventilation is easy to adjust and actually noticeable
Cons
- On the expensive side
- Sustainability info isn’t very clear
I spend most winters working and skiing in the mountains, so a helmet usually stays on my head for the entire day. That means I notice quickly if something is uncomfortable, too hot, or constantly needs adjusting.
The first day I used the Vision was during a ski tour where we had a long skin track followed by a windy ridge walk before the descent. It was one of those days where you start cold, warm up quickly on the climb, and then get blasted by wind once you reach the top.
On the climb, I opened the vents and immediately felt the difference. A lot of helmets claim to have adjustable ventilation, but the change here was actually noticeable. Later when we stopped on the ridge, I closed the vents and the helmet felt much warmer. It’s a small feature but really useful during long days when conditions keep changing.

After that day I kept using it during lift skiing as well, including a few storm days and one very sunny day where temperatures were much warmer than expected. It handled both situations well without feeling too hot or too cold.
Fit/Comfort
The Ripcord360 fit system works really well. Instead of tightening only from the back like many helmets, it tightens evenly around your head. Once I adjusted it the first time I barely had to touch it again.
I didn’t feel any pressure on my forehead or temples, which is usually where helmets start bothering me after a few hours. Even after wearing it for a full day of skiing it still felt comfortable.
Look/Style
The helmet has a clean, low profile look. It doesn’t feel bulky and it integrates nicely with goggles. I didn’t get any goggle gap and everything lined up well.

Features
The ventilation system is probably my favorite feature. It’s controlled with a single lever, which makes it easy to adjust even with gloves on. When the vents are open, you get good airflow, and when they’re closed it keeps heat in.
The Fidlock magnetic buckle is another small detail that makes life easier. It’s simple to close with one hand and works well even with gloves.
The helmet also comes with MIPS, which adds rotational impact protection. For me, that’s an important safety feature, especially when skiing technical terrain.
The liner feels soft and comfortable, and the antimicrobial foam helps prevent the helmet from getting smelly after multiple days of use.
Weight/Packability
The helmet feels lightweight once it’s on your head. I didn’t notice any neck fatigue, even during longer days.
Function/Performance
Overall, the helmet performed well in different conditions. It stayed comfortable during climbs, protected well on windy ridges, and didn’t overheat on warmer days. The ventilation and fit system made it easy to adjust throughout the day without taking the helmet off.
Durability/Construction
The construction feels solid and well-made. After several days of use and being packed into gear bags during travel, it still looks new with no signs of wear.
Did it meet expectations?
Yes. It performed the way I expected based on the product description, especially in terms of ventilation and fit.

What sets it apart?
The combination of a comfortable fit and simple ventilation adjustment makes it stand out. Some helmets are either comfortable or feature-heavy, but this one manages to balance both.
Who is this product for?
I would recommend this helmet for skiers or snowboarders who spend full days in the mountains and want something comfortable enough for long wear. It works well for both resort skiing and backcountry touring.
Friendliness to the Earth
The helmet includes antimicrobial materials that help extend its lifespan, which is helpful for durability. However, I couldn’t find much information about recycled materials or other sustainability initiatives related to this product.
The Final Word
The Vision Mips helmet is lightweight, comfortable, and easy to adjust during a full day in the mountains.
What I liked most was the fit and ventilation system. It’s a helmet that feels good all day and doesn’t require constant adjustment. The main downside is the higher price and limited information about sustainability.
Overall, it’s a solid choice for skiers who want a reliable helmet for both resort and backcountry use.
