Summary
This product is super thin, and I was shocked by how much light it gave off for being so thin. The protective cover over the clear cable is a smart move to keep it from being damaged. This is great for decorative light around camp, or to light up hard to reach spaces.

Performance
I use flashlights daily. This Shineline got a lot of use around the house! I used it to light up the engine bay of my wife’s car to find where her horn is at. I also used it in our cabin over Thanksgiving. We strung it up by the toilet to be able to see at night. Our cabin had one giant flood light in the middle. If you turned it on during the night hours, there’d be too much light. The little Shineline was perfect. It does provide enough light to vaguely see what’s going on and works great as a night light. The little wire ties on the light are very functional and work great for suspending the fiber optic cord onto different areas. I wrapped the lights around my motorcycle onto different points, just for fun. It also makes a great light for reading. My wife enjoys reading at night before bed and I am usually asleep before her — this light isn’t overbearing to the point where it bothers me and prevents me from sleeping.
Features
The green light is very cool looking. It illuminated things in the area just enough, and had a “fun” feeling to it. The charging function on the light is compatible in AC or DC current. You can charge it from a wall socket or a cigarette port in your vehicle. It only takes 1.5 hours to charge and has a display to let you know if the battery in charged or not.
It’s a novelty piece for sure. I’d use it for running along the top of my tent for getting up on early morning ventures while hunting. In my future back country hunts, this will be the light I take with me to suspend from the ceiling of my tent in replacement of my old competitors lights that uses batteries.
This light seems to be durable enough to last several years. As long as it can take a charge, it’ll keep running.
Packability
The light packs down to nothing. It takes up the same amount of room as a head lamp, although I would say it puts out less light than a head lamp.
Room For Improvement
One drawback that I did notice was trying to find the dang power button in the middle of the night. There needs to be more texture to the rubber piece for easier guidance while turning it on. Also, it doesn’t come with a charging cord, you’ll need a micro USB cord.
The Final Word
I really do like this Radiant Shineline. It’s fun and can be hung in odd places with the ties and how flexible it is. It wouldn’t be too much to ask for a micro USB to be thrown into the box. Most people have the micro USB and it’ll get tossed into the pile with the rest of the cords.
