Pros

  • The puffy trunk/fabric sleeve combo is extremely comfortable
  • Keeps you warm even though its light weight
  • Great design and look

Cons

  • None

The Hybrid in this jacket’s name is for good reason. It’s not a normal jacket; it’s a versatile piece of outerwear that has quickly become my first pick when leaving the house. The mix between stretch sleeves and puffy torso makes it a great choice for anything the day may bring.

Fit/Comfort

I usually oscillate between and medium and large in Cotopaxi apparel. I went large on this one so I could layer it over thermals while hiking and relaxing at camp. The large fits me well. The puffy material does it’s job at keeping you warm while the stretch material in the arms does it’s job at letting you move freely and comfortably.

Look

The Cotopaxi Capa Hybrid Jacket has bold colors and contrasting panels that make it obvious you’re wearing Cotopaxi, which is a great thing! I love the look of Cotopaxi clothing, I like that it all is very recognizable. And I can feel good being recognized in it because it’s doing so many great things for the environment (more below!).

Warmth/Contruction

It’s insulated to keep you warm on chilly days, and the synthetic fill retains heat even when wet – though I wouldn’t count on this jacket in rainstorms, it’s best for dry adventures. This jacket is filled with synthetic PrimaLoft® Gold P.U.R.E. (Produced Using Reduced Emissions) and it’s great at regulating tempreture. The stretchy side panels offer fantastic freedom of movement, making it perfect for hiking, climbing, or campfire lounging. I love a good helmet-compatible hood that makes it great for climbers and skier/snowboarders. The jacket’s cuffs are elastic so they seal in warmth. I also love that it compresses down into its own pocket, making it incredibly easy to stash in your backpack when you don’t need it.

Eco-Friendly

The Cotopaxi Capa Hybrid Jacket (and Cotopaxi in general) is a great choice for the environmentally conscious. Cotopaxi is known for its commitment to sustainability. It’s made with responsibly sourced materials, including recycled polyester. Read more about Cotopaxi’s commitment to ethical manufacturing practices on their website.
