ProView – Orange Mud Transition Wrap
I’m a self-proclaimed hippie and don’t care much about modesty. I’ll be naked at a trailhead or river take-out in a hot minute without thinking twice. But, sometimes there are those creepers, or I realize that not everyone wants to see my junk. Sometimes I’m grossly sweaty and trying to change into something nice straight off the trail without showering first and this is where the OrangeMud Transition Wrap comes in.
Orange Mud Transition Wrap
Product Description: The Transition Wrap is a multipurpose changing towel and seat cover to fix this very problem. Just zip up the removable hoodie and slip over your headrest for a secure mount to your seat post workout. When you're ready to change from work clothes to workout clothes at the local trail, just secure the belt around your waist and the towel will stay put! It’s machine washable, built to last a very long time, and comes in a bunch of fun colors too.

Summary
I wasn’t sure what to make of this towel before testing it out but it was always nice having a dedicated tech towel in the car for whatever I got into. At first, I thought it was a little extra but after using it again and again it became clear I needed this in my life. And, it’s not just for that spring singletrack or summer float sesh, I’m planning on keeping this in my vehicle for those impromptu truck stop showers and for catching the melt off from my backcountry skis/boots.
Overall
4Pros
- Very thick/plush fabric
- Dries quickly
- Feels nice and soft
- Wasn’t worried about my beige seats getting wet/dirty
Cons
- Heavy
- The clip is cumbersome to get in the slots
- The feel of the plastic clip strip
- The wrap is kinda bulky and was too big to take on town-floats or to put in my racing drop bags.
This wrap measures ~5ftx3ft and works perfect for me to wear as I would a normal towel getting out of the shower. It also transitions to a car seat cover to prevent sweat/dirty/funk from seeping into your upholstery. I found myself wiping my orange fire cheeto fingers on this during long road trips, throwing it in my drybag for packraft trips, and was happy to have it when my buddy came into town and we went mountain biking after a rainstorm.
Fit/Comfort
The fabric is super soft and absorbent. The towel is long enough to cover the naughtybits while changing without dragging it in the dirt/water.
Look/Style
Plain black was just fine to cover my seats and absorb heat after a paddle. Maybe some prints could spice things up.
Features
The towel turns into a seat cover but doesn’t stay put that well with the current configuration. Perhaps some snaps to go around a headrest would be better and lighter than a zipper. The towel was bulky. I’d love for this to be thinner, lighter, more compact to be more versatile.
Function/Performance
This wrap dries quickly, but the clip is hard to get into the slot. I really don’t like the plastic clip strip which is rough on the body, and looks cheap. It is cool that they offer so much customization though on where to clip.
Room for Improvement
General construction feels and looks nice minus the bulky clip and plastic strip. I would like to see this be made from something more eco-friendly. I think that one more version of this towel with a few modifications will be perfect.
The Final Word
I wasn’t that familiar with OrangeMud before I started running ultras. They have great resources like ultra packing lists/training programs and gear like hydration vests, duffles, sweet drop bags, transition wraps, etc.

Peace, love, and epic adventures to all you dirtbags.
