ProView – Thule Verse Bike Rack Review
My partner and I love our e-bikes but haven’t been able to take them anywhere together–until now! We were finally able to load up the bikes using the the Thule Verse 2″ 2-bike hitch platform bike rack and take them to one of our favorite trails at Pella Crossing in Hygiene, Colorado and then for a spin around the town of Lyons.

Summary
I love the convenience of being able to take my bike wherever I want without having to maneuver it into the back of my car and worry about breaking one of the parts. It is so nice to be able to take our bikes somewhere else instead of only setting out from our house. We are definitely going to be bringing our e-bikes or “acoustic” bikes on future trips using this bike rack.

Performance
It was a beautiful, warm summer evening when my partner and I finished work for the day and finally had time together to take a sunset bike ride. The e-bikes are heavy but pretty easy to slide onto the Thule Verse bike rack by getting the front wheel in first and securing it with the single-hook attachment arm and then strapping the back wheel in. I also used the included bike lock for security while going back into the house to get ready.
We drove to the nearby town of Hygiene to ride around the ponds at Pella Crossing. Unloading the bikes was even easier with the help of gravity. I appreciate that this bike rack can handle the weight of two e-bikes, including the batteries.

We had a lovely ride around the ponds where people were fishing, red-winged black birds were gathering, and the mountains were becoming silhouetted by the sinking sun. It was a quick ride because we also wanted to go over to Lyons and ride to one of our favorite restaurants. So we easily loaded the bikes back up and drove over to park near the St. Vrain Creek.
I also used the bike rack a couple times on my own before our rides: once to bring one of the e-bikes to our annual Outdoor Prolink team ride and another time to bring the other e-bike to the shop for a tune up. I could drive with the bike on the back of my car with peace of mind knowing it was secure.

Durability
This bike rack can also be easily tilted downward for easy access to the trunk of the car. A word of advice that I definitely did not learn the hard way: after tilting the rack all the way down to load in your groceries (which isn’t even necessary because there’s plenty of room when it is in the horizontal position and bikes aren’t on the rack) make sure the bike rack is in the upright position before driving away and scraping it along the road for half a block causing small parts to eject themselves.
But don’t worry if this does happen, because the rack is very durable and the Thule parts department is very helpful in quickly getting you the miscellaneous parts you may need. Again, I definitely did not learn this from my own personal experience.

Installation
I am very grateful to my partner for installing this bike rack for me, as he is the handy man of the house. He said the instructions weren’t super clear because it was just pictures and no written directions, but he was able to figure it out. I found that watching the video on how to secure the bikes was more helpful than the instructions.
The Final Word
I love the convenience of being able to take my bike wherever I want without having to maneuver it into the back of my car and worry about breaking one of the parts. It is so nice to be able to take our bikes somewhere else instead of only setting out from our house. We are definitely going to be bringing our e-bikes or “acoustic” bikes on future trips using this bike rack.
