Keystone Resort Welcomes National Brotherhood of Snowsports Summit
Calling all brothers and sisters (if you have a heartbeat – that’s you)! February 22, 2025 – March 1, 2025 all ages are welcome to party at the National Brotherhood of Snowsports (NBS) Summit in Keystone, Colorado. This FUN-draiser has a variety of snowsport and social activities throughout the whole week you won’t want to miss.
2025 Summit Highlights (see schedule)
- Welcome Party (DJ, dancing, big party for about 1,000 folks)
- Gospelfest (NBS Choir, meet Team NBS athletes)
- Opening Ceremony Parade (All clubs, Team NBS, and outreach youth programs parade to celebrate another great summit experience)
- Ski With a SnowPro (get tips on skiing and riding)
- BBQ On The Hill (DJ, line dancing, good food)
- Chic Sneaker Ball (dinner and music, awards ceremony, live auction, dance the night away)
- Happy Hours (NBS puts the apres in ski!)
Since 1973, National Brotherhood of Snowsports has been celebrated worldwide for its mission to identify, develop, and support athletes who will win International and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States and to increase participation in winter sports.
If you are curious about, or actively participate in snowsports then this gathering is for you. It is more than a celebration, it is a way to meet like-minded individuals guided by a wholesome week of joyful events and a chance to ski or snowboard with a diverse group of people. NBS President Henri Rivers explains, “The experience is second to none.”
When you purchase a summit ticket either for half a week or the whole week, your money goes towards the NBS Olympic Scholarship Fund (OSF). The OSF provides scholarships to athletes competing in snowsports. This helps athletes with competition entry fees, travel expenses to competitions and training facilities, and general training which usually starts around $3000 for one day a week of coaching. The athletes that become members of “Team NBS” exemplify the hard work and dedication required to represent the National Brotherhood of Snowsports and the United States on the Regional, National, and International stage.

We welcome everyone.
What happens at the summit?
It’s a week-long celebration of camaraderie, fellowship, and having a great time in the outdoors. You don’t have to ski or snowboard. You could snowshoe, snowmobile, tube, all sorts of different activities outside. Being in nature is great. The summit is really like a family reunion every year.
How has NBS made an impact on the snowsports industry?
Over the last five years, we have now started addressing the ski industry and making them understand that we are relevant, that we should be respected for what we’ve accomplished and achieved, and that we want to be an integral part of the snowsports industry. Now, we partner with some of the largest companies within the snowsports industry. When they want to ask questions about the snowsports industry they call us now.
Are there any Africans/African-Americans that have gone to the Olympics and Paralympics?
Bonnie St. John (1984 Paralympics in Innsbruck, Austria), Seba Johnson (1988 Olympics in Calgary, Canada), Ralph Green (2006 Paralympics in Turin, Italy, 2010 Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada, 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia), and Errol Kerr (2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada).
Any Team NBS athletes on track to future Olympics?
Ava Keenan (moguls), LJ Henriquez (slopestyle), Brian Rice II (big air), Henniyah Rivers (alpine), Henri Rivers IV (alpine/skier cross), Helaina Rivers (alpine), Chelsea Charles (alpine), and Will Chaussignand (nordic).
How do we get the United States more gold medals at the Winter Olympics?
You increase the athletic pool. There are so many athletes that are super talented but don’t have the coaching or the finance to train and become a competitive snowsports athlete and represent the United States.
What drives you as president?
My driving force is to ensure the ski industry knows who we are, and respects who we are. There are so many black skiers and riders that should be acknowledged and that’s what drives me. I want to make sure we get our respect and that we are looked upon as a resource in this industry.
